Tonight the guys scrimmaged Mount Hebron. It was a faster paced game then the last one. It was good preparation for next weeks 3 game series. Monday night we play our first home game of the season and the first boys basketball game in the school's history. Tuesday night is away at Baltimore Polytechnic Institute, and Friday is home against Northwestern High School-Baltimore.
I'm hoping to create a lot of interest in our games this year. For one I started off by creating a movie morning announcement for OHS students to promote the game on Monday. Also, we will be having a spirit night at all home games. The OHS student displaying the best OHS spirited outfit will be awarded a gift certificate.
In addition, we are conducting a OHS Claw Ball Club for kids (K-8). This club has been created to help the younger kids get excited about the new high school, promote attendance at both Boys and Girls b-ball games, and hopefully get them excited about basketball. Tomorrow night from 6-8 p.m. we are having a clinic for those kids. They will get to meet players, improve their basketball skills, and have fun. They are very excited and eager to come out and support the BEARS.
